biggest loser protein
been a vegetarian for a month now, lost 3 pounds, do i need more protein?

so in highschool i weighed around 120 to 125. after hs i have weighed 115-117 for 4 years now. about a month ago i started eating vegetarian/ vegan and after a big dinner and a dessert i weighed myself (i was watching the biggest loser finale), and i weighed 112. i dropped 3 pounds. i thought i was eating well, i eat whole wheat and grain breads when i feel like it, have some desserts and tons of veggies fruits nuts etc whenever i want, ive also been exercising now so maybe that has something to do with it. should i drink protein shakes or eat something more? idk. i dont eat dairy or eggs anymore either. btw im 5'6" and now 112 lbs. a body mass index calculator said tht im underweight. thats y im asking.

Losing weight isn't necessarily because of lack of protein, just a decrease in total calories. If you have been exercising more now than you used to, then that probably has a lot to do with it. Just increase your intake of calories and you should be able to get back up to your previous weight. Nuts (and nut butters), seeds, and beans are dense with calories, so those are good. Avocados and coconuts also have a lot of calories. Dried fruit (raisins, craisins, dried apricots, dried mango, etc.) is also very dense in calories. If you want to drink protein shakes, I'm sure that would be perfectly fine and helpful in gaining some weight back, but not absolutely necessary if that isn't something that sounds appealing to you. You can make tasty shakes with vanilla soy, rice, or almond milk and then fruits or veggies. I like bananas and peanut butter, so a banana and peanut butter protein shake would be very tasty, dense in calories and also would have good nutrients. I would just look to switch some of the food you eat with few calories to some food that has more calories since your looking to add a few pounds. Like if you eat celery, either add peanut butter, or switch to a vegetable with more calories like peas. Oh, and also use cooking oils like olive oil on your foods because those have a lot of calories and good fats. Good luck gaining back your lost weight!

Green tea is a nice drink and beneficial, but the body itself os self cleansing - tea of any colour or no tea.

Could someone tell me which is the best Protein shake for weight loss?(Please read details)?

Could someone tell me which is the best Protein shake for weight loss? I've already bought three so far and they're not cheap. I bought Amazing Grass, Biochem Sports 100% Greens and Whey and Living Harvest Hemp Protein. Keep in mind that I am working out, about 4 days a week. I don't expect to loose weight by dietary supplements alone. I would really like to find a protein shake that has a appetite suppressant in it like Hoodia because after I work out, I just want to eat everything in the house.
