Typically, ginseng is an energizer. Red ginseng often is ginseng with caffeine added to give you even more "energy".

Years ago I used to chew Korean red ginseng roots and used that to break my habit of smoking. The red color comes from being soaked in caffeine. Took one day to quite smoking, although I developed a taste for ginseng, which is harmless.

If money is not taken into account what is the best mixture of supplements to take for gaining muscle. I am currently on P90X and I am looking to build serious muscle. i have been taking guarana in a powder form in it's pure form nothing added to it , it has helped my energy level , but i find it also supresses hungry, is it bad in this case ?.

It is a concentrated source of caffine and in the long term I think it would be VERY bad news. I wouldn't want to take it for more than the shortest time possible.

Is taking flaxseed oil and saw pametto bad for a female?

Okay, so I'm trying to grow my boobs out and also maintain my health. I started taking Flaxseed Oil, Saw Palmetto, and Prenatals. I have always taken one prenatal per day, but I was wondering if it could be harmful to take all of these together(one of each per day)? Does Flaxseed Oil or Saw Palmetto have any weird side effects on females? I am eighteen by the way. This is urgent, please help :]

I can only tell you about flaxseed oil. Ophthalmologists regularly prescribe it for dry eye (it makes your tears more oily), and I have never heard that it is in any way bad for a woman to take. It's somewhat similar to fish oil in being a healthy form of oil. I've been taking 2 grams a day for about 2 decades, and never had a bad side effect (and it does help make my eyes less dry). I have no clue how it would affect your boobs. Hasn't done a thing for mine.

A Spoonful of Sugar a Day - Can it Keep the Doctor Away?

'Sugar' might as well be a four-letter word the way science and pseudo-science has demonized it over the years. The nemesis of dieters everywhere, sugar has become the scapegoat for obesity as well as a number of other diseases and conditions. People have been told by nutritionists that carbohydrates are bad, sugar is bad, and now there seems to be a Diet version of practically everything on the market. But is sugar really as evil as everyone thinks it is?

A scientific field called glycoscience and/or glycobiology disagrees with much of the popular opinion about sugar, and not just regarding weight loss. There is an ever-increasing amount of research that suggests certain types of sugars can have an enormous benefit to our health, including boosting human immune response, to inhibiting cancerous tumor growth.

'Glyco' is derived from the Greek word 'sweet' and refers to monosaccharides or sugars. For decades, Scientists have known about the link between sugars, carbohydrates and their effect in boosting energy. Now although most people would agree with that statement, most of them would heartily disagree that sugar and carbs are the answer to many of the health questions plaguing our modern society. Well surprise everybody...sugar might be the way to go. Again though, they have to be the right sugars; the monosaccharides found in plants, not the table sugar you find in your local grocery store.

So the question remains, where do we get these beneficial sugars? Simple. The company is called Mannatech. Has anyone used Phytophanere Dietary Supplement - Hair & Nails?? Does it work?? Is it worth the money??

I've never tried the product but the thing I found helpful to my hair (and the initial reason I started taking them) and nails was to take prenatal vitamins. I have never been pregnant in my life but I started taking them (and checked with my doctor to see if it was ok for me to do and she said it was) for my hair. Found it helpful to my hair but also noticed that it helped my nails a lot as well as my skin.

I got my prenatal vitamins over at Wal-Mart over the counter.

Check with your doctor to see if it's ok for you to take these if you are interested in trying them. I've been taking prenatal vitamins for almost 8 years now.

I started taking Juice Plus. Has anyone had bad side effects from this?

I am feeling fatigued everyday even after a good night's sleep. I am only 27 and have a great sex life, but since juice +, I feel impotent. Has anyone else had side effects or anything bad from taking this. It's just a vitamin supplement, so I'm a little concerned.

Perhaps you should stop taking it and see if you start to feel a bit better....
